The third film from Wright and Pegg and largely the same ensemble cast. A proper step up from their previous outings methinks. More like this, please.
| Title: | The World’s End |
| Director: | Edgar Wright |
| Score: | 4/6 |
| Final score: | Only eleven pints. |
Resolutions, reviews, rants, raves.
Yet another sci-fi-alien-zombie-thriller-horror-flick. Sometimes terribly exciting. Sometimes horribly annoing. Sometimes excruciating shaky-cammy. Ultimately a bit disappointing after a truly excellent first act.
| Title: | The Last Days on Mars |
| Director: | Ruairí Robinson |
| Score: | 3/6 |
| Verdict: | Flawed but watchable. |
I have to tell you something. There’s a little old prog group from Lyon, France called Poil that I’ve been listening to from time to time. I just discovered they have a brand spanking new album out called Brosaklitt… and… It’s Glorious! Don’t walk, run over to Bandcamp and check it out. And remember: support the artist! I’m getting the double vinyl.
| Title: | Evil Under the Sun |
| Director: | Guy Hamilton |
| Score: | 3/6 |
| Favourite track: | Goddog |
The slightly tedious story of Operation Mincemeat.
| Title: | The Man Who Never Was |
| Director: | Ronald Neame |
| Score: | 3/6 |
| Major letdown: | They didn’t fire him like a torpedo. |
