Xena: Warrior Princess
Rob Tapert etc
So I finally watched the final Xena-episode. I’ve been putting it off for a few months, because I didn’t want it to end. But I guess it was time, and so I can only remove my hat for the greatest TV series that ever there was.
Yes, it has its share of silly filler material, but underneath is a truly epic story of loss, despair, sorrow and all those big wholesome emotions a truly epic story needs. All told with great style and panache and intelligent referencing to historical myth as well as itself. Never fearing to step into the meta-level, never with a patronizing attitude towards its audience.
I shall miss you, Xena. Until I watch the DVD commentaries.
