Not a comedy, as a lot of people claim, but a tragedy. And a gripping one at that. Performed and arranged like a theatre play, it basically portrays a bunch of people being miserable, with next to no music, and no audience.
Good music, great (as in huge) sets, excellent minatures, a silly plot, some exquisite overacting and a mighty crush-worthy supporting actress. What’s not to like? Can’t understand why I haven’t seen it before.
In a likely terminal case of genre blindness, Hectors stumble through this predictable plot, doing everything wrong. Why does accidental time travel only ever happen to idiots?
Pretty dull movie, man. I love me a good court room drama, but in this one, all the testimonies fade to flashbacks. And I don’t love flashbacks. In the opening minutes of the trial, the court was persuaded to not read the charges, due to their heinous nature or somesuch nonsense. That’s about the cheapest dramaturgical trick I’ve ever seen. Maybe I’ll give it a creativity point for that one.
