A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints [2006]

A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints
Dito Montiel
5/6

Disturbing. Uncomfortable. The Shia-fixation keeps paying off. Don’t watch it, Lars!

Murder
Alfred Hitchcock
6/6

Deliciously absurd, even surrealist, in the most indescribable fashion. Watch it. I mean it.

What’s up with all these pretty good gangster movies this decade?

Sicario: Day of the Soldado
Stefano Sollima
4/6

Maybe not quite as good as the first. But I still like it.

Sicario
Denis Villeneuve
4/5

I like it.

The Abyss (special edition)
James Cameron
4/6

Two hours and forty-five without feeling long… That’s gotta be worth some points.

Btw, I think the special edition ending makes infinitely more sense than the theatrical release.

Budding Prospects
Terry Zwigoff
5/6

Not really a movie, but when one of your favourite directors makes a TV pilot that looks like is never going to happen, what’re you gonna do?

Make it happen, Bezos!

Champagne
Alfred Hiteheoek
3/5

That’s pretty funny. Also, lots of fancy camera work I hadn’t expected anybody did this early.
